#2021picoftheweek – Look Up

Several medium-thick, dark tree limbs stretch horizontally across the center of the photo, which is mostly dominated by the tree's bright-green leaves that the sun is lighting up from out of frame. There are dark tree leaves in the background toward the bottom of the frame—the sky makes up the background of the rest of the photo. A crescent-shaped lens flare open to the right cuts through the photo.

Prompt: Look Up

My father and I went on a walk today, and as I was searching for photo ops, I saw the sunset shining through the leaves of this tree. And then as I was snapping a photo, the sun made this beautiful lens-flare arc across the photo! Sometimes I take so many photos that I forget to be present in the moment. But other times, searching for things to take photos of actually forces me to take my surroundings in—and to look up!

  1. I love a good lens flare! This one is perfect. Like a sideways rainbow :)
